for (ironic as it may be)
quiet always has
something to say.

The soundless sun settles on skin,
warms you to the bone –
it’s known you all these
years and loves you still.
Isn’t it amazing to recall
the marvellous days we’ve seen
under it’s good hearted gaze?

These moments soften us to life:
book in hand, dog at feet,
wild living waters a couple
breaths away, family near,
and the future bright as ever.
